PADQ —> PAKH
The flight from Kodiak to Akhiok was breathtaking! Flew with a great pilot, Tony, with Vertigo Air in a nice little Cherokee 6. Tony knew the area like that back of his hand and gave me a great tour of the scenes going past. Flight took about an hour. Skies started clear and the fog and clouds soon enveloped the surrounding mountains changing to mist and rain by the time we got to PAKH. Many peaks and valleys along the way with mountain goats way up high.
Kodiak Airport (PADQ). Left out of the smaller, municipal airport (PAKD) & flew over PADQ (pictured here). Not sure who put that mountain at the end of runway 26 but….
Don’t know if it has an official name, but I call it Heart Island Lake.
